Officer Jim Kuzak
Launches Adaptive ATV Program
On April 4, 2011, Clairton
police officer James Kuzak was shot 5 times while answering a home
invasion call. Sustaining gunshot wounds to his chest, arm and
side which severely injured his lung and spine, he spent the past year
recovering from his injuries.
His
rehabilitation schedule took a surprising twist recently when he became
the first to complete a new Adaptive ATV Program at Mines & Meadows.
This groundbreaking partnership with UPMC offers people with spinal
injuries and other disabilities the chance to once again experience
freedom and independence.
