Through the cooperation of the great folks at Fisher's ATV World, we are now able to bring you their complete Mines & Meadows segment aired recently on the Outdoor Channel.  This segment will be re-aired on April 28th & 29th.

If you are an ATV enthusiast, we strongly urge you to contact your cable or satellite provider to get the Outdoor Channel; it's worth the price just to get Fisher's phenomenal program.  (Please note that this large video may take over a minute to load on high speed connections.)

Bob's Trip to Cabo San Lucas

We hope you enjoy this slide show from our owner, Bob Svihra's recent trip to Mexico.  As you'll see, he didn't just hang out at the beach, but captured some incredible ATV riding on film.

Hands-on ATV Training

One of the things we are most proud of at Mines & Meadows is our ASI and DCNR certified safety classes, which provide valuable instruction to both children and new riders of all ages.  We recognize though that people have different riding skills, experience and objectives.  It is for this reason that we have designed a comprehensive, 3-tiered, hands-on training curriculum for Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced riders.

Beginners will learn how to select the right machine, safety equipment and accessories.  They will also learn how to safely load and unload their machine, setup handlebars/control levers, and perform routine maintenance.  Executing actual maneuvers on our trails they will learn to start and stop even in emergencies, position themselves properly to climb or descend hills and negotiate sharp turns.  Instructors will utilize our "real world" obstacles to demonstrate (in a controlled environment) the correct way to deal with things like rocks, roots and ruts.  Students completing this course should feel comfortable and confident in general trail riding situations.

Our Intermediate and Advanced Courses are designed to challenge more experienced riders while teaching expert techniques to deal with specific situations.  Topics include: dangerous stream crossings, turning out safely on hills, advanced shifting and clutch techniques and operating safely at speed or in tight places.

Please stay tuned for more information on class times, availability, pricing and course content.

New Ad Campaign

Listen for our new radio commercials starting the week of November 19th on Froggy 104.3 and on Pickle 92.1.  Stop by Mines & Meadows and register to win a giant 4 foot stuffed frog with a chance at winning $1000.00.

Check out Froggy's Amy Paparella taking our frog out on the trail for the first time.  Worried about the mud, our frog decided to leave his shrink wrap on.

V.F.D. held the first of what will hopefully be many ATV Poker Runs at Mines & Meadows on Saturday, September 22, 2007.  For all those that participated, we would like to offer our thanks for helping set a new single-day attendance record at the park.  This is our own lovely Jen, after a quick spin through the mud bog.

Please click here to see the fire department's thank you letter.  We would like to join them in congratulating the winners of this year's poker event:

  • First Place - $300 (Full House) Bill Britton, Townville, PA

  • Second Place - $150 (Three Aces) Joseph Rachwal, Lyndora, PA

  • Worst Hand - $50 (Unmentionable) Pat Meister, Ellwood City, PA

KDKA - Dave Crawley

Pittsburgh's own Dave Crawley, host of the popular KD Country, stopped by recently to highlight Mines & Meadows as one of our area's "Tri-State Treasures".  The segment originally aired on KDKA on August 17th at 6:00 p.m., but you can click here to see it in its entirety.

Fisher's ATV World

The staff and management at Mines & Meadows would like to take this opportunity to thank Brian & Melissa Fisher, their family and crew for the warmth, caring and professionalism exhibited during their visit to our park.  The overriding theme of Fisher's ATV World is 'Keepin' It Real", meaning real people having real fun.  Like us, the Fishers believe in promoting strong family values, increased safety awareness, rider education and fun for all ages.  We think these qualities will come through loud and clear when our segment airs February 28, 2008 on the Outdoor Channel.  Please check your cable guide for show times in your area.

New Trail Map Is Finally Here!

You know a lot has changed in the park since we opened the doors last October, especially the trail system.  In just the last few months we have added more than 11 miles of new trails with some really extreme rock scrambles, mudbogs, hill climbs and even a dirt oval race track.  Unfortunately, things have been moving so fast that our poor folks in the map department have had trouble keeping up with all the changes.  They burnt the midnight oil though and you can click here to see the results.
